Other patients may undergo physical therapy or surgery.

Rheumatoid Spondylitis Symptoms and Signs

 Affected individuals may feel pain and stiffness in their lower back and hips in the early stages of the condition. These symptoms usually worsen during periods without activity such as in the morning and at night. They may progress up the spine and to other joints, such as those in the hips, shoulders, knees, and feet.

 The cause of the condition is not specifically known but genetics may contribute to the condition.
