Hunt's Syndrome natural cures

Hunt's Syndrome Definition

Hunt's syndrome is a rare form of progressive cerebellar dyssynergia mainly marked by intention tremor and often associated with convulsions and myoclonic epileptic jerks.

Hunt's Syndrome Diagnosis

Diagnosis is typically determined by observation of evidence of facial weakness and a vesicular rash. Occasionally, a nerve conduction study may be performed to determine the extent of damage to the facial nerve and potential for recovery.

Hunt's Syndrome Treatment

The main point to recovery from Ramsay Hunt syndrome is the effective treatment of the varicella-zoster virus. Anti-viral medications, such as Acyclovir or Famciclovir are prescribed for 7 to 10 days along with strong anti-inflammatory steroids (such as Prednisolone) for 3 to 5 days which are tapered off in about a week.

Hunt's Syndrome Symptoms and Signs

Tremor usually starts locally in one extremity and spreads gradually, eventually involving the entire voluntary motor system. Legs are disturbed less frequently than arms. Other features include unsteady gait, errors in estimating the range, direction, and force of voluntary movements, asthenia, muscular hypotonia, and adiadochokinesia are associated.

Hunt's Syndrome Causes
The cause is uncertain, though it may be due to a degeneration of the olivodentatorubral system.
