It's Trivia Tuesday!
Each November animals are busy getting ready for winter! What do you think Woodchucks (also commonly called Groundhogs) do to survive the colder temperatures? They hibernate by curling up in an underground nest and sleeping through until spring!
Did you know…? A Woodchuck’s heart rate declines to 4-5 beats per minute when it is hibernating! That’s down from a normal rate of 80-100 beats per minute!

It’s Trivia Tuesday AND time to reveal November’s Bird of the Month!
Surprise! This November we decided to gobble about a bird that you may see from time to time in your very own backyard… the Eastern Wild Turkey!
Did you know…?
Only male turkeys let out that telltale gobble-gobble!
Males, or “gobblers” as they are called, use this vocalization to communicate with females for mating purposes. To learn more about the Eastern Wild Turkey, check out the Kiosk near our Birds of Prey Exhibit.
